Take the guesswork out of worming your horse. Faecal egg counts allow you to know exactly what’s happening in your horse’s gut, so you can choose the right product at the right time of year.
Targeted worming not only supports your horse’s health and performance, but also helps prevent unnecessary treatments and resistance.
We perform faecal egg counts by examining a small sample of your horse’s manure under a microscope using a specialised counting technique.
This allows us to accurately measure the number of worm eggs present per gram, giving a clear indication of your horse’s worm burden. From these results, we can recommend whether worming is needed and which product will be most effective.
Collect one ball of fresh faeces in a zip lock bag. Make sure the manure is fresh and moist, not spread out by birds and bugs or dried.
Ideally get your sample to us asap but if you can't you can store the sample in the fridge for up to 4 days prior to submission.
Please write your full name, phone number and the horse name in permanent marker on each sample submitted and drop it off in store!
Cost is $15 per sample, $10 per sample for 3+ horses
